Overview
Summary | Study human behavior and the mind through a biblical lens in this engaging high school psych course. |
Description | Created for students in grades 9–12, this course is designed to introduce students to the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of human beings from a biblical, Christian perspective. God has created the human being to be spirit, soul, and body. This course will treat the subject matter of psychology from this perspective rather than the naturalistic viewpoint found in modern psychology. Students will become familiar with the various schools of thought in psychology over the past 150 years, the role of the brain, what compels us to act, the nature of emotion, how we learn, and a host of other fascinating and relevant subjects. The course units include textbook-based lessons, on- and off-computer exercises, special projects, writing assignments, quizzes, and tests. Students will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and connect the ideas they are studying with their everyday lives. |
