Overview
Summary | Keyboarding I is an elective to help students learn how to type. Since this course is for beginners, it assumes that the student has no prior knowledge or experience in typing. |
Description | The course teaches proper finger placement, how to type all 26 letters of the alphabet, and how to use the enter, space, period, and comma keys. Also, the majority of the course is designed around biblical themes. As students learn to type, they will also be introduced to books of the Bible, various biblical characters, and important ideas and doctrines. Upon completion of the course, students will understand proper finger placement, be able to type simple words, and have a deeper understanding of the different books, characters, and ideas in the Bible. This will also prepare the student to take more advanced typing courses (Keyboarding II, Keyboarding III, and Keyboarding IV) in an effort to continually improve their typing skills as they prepare for online education and a world where typing is an essential skill in the Information Age. |

Overview
Summary | Keyboarding II is an elective that builds on Keyboarding I, enhancing typing skills with a focus on finger placement, punctuation, and Scripture typing, preparing students for further advancement in typing proficiency. |
Description | Keyboarding II is an elective designed to help students learn how to type. Designed to follow Keyboarding I, this is a two-unit course. The first unit focuses on proper finger placement, common English words, using the shift key to capitalize letters, intermediate punctuation, and typing short sentences and short paragraphs. In the second unit, students will type portions of Scripture from the book of Psalms as they continue to fine-tune the skills practiced in Keyboarding I and the first unit of this course. Upon completion of the course, students will have an even stronger knowledge of proper finger placement, be able to type common words along with short sentences and short paragraphs, and be able to type capital letters. In addition, they will become more familiar with several well-known Psalms. This will also prepare the student to take Keyboarding III, a more advanced typing course, to continually improve their typing skills as they prepare for online education and a world where typing is an essential skill in the Information Age. |
