Kindergarten* Bible (AOP)

Overview

Summary
Kindergarten Bible introduces children to God’s story, from Creation to Jesus’ life, love, and resurrection.
Description

In Kindergarten Bible, students learn the foundational stories of the Bible, beginning with Creation and God’s plan for the world. They explore early Bible accounts such as sin entering the world, Noah and the flood, the Tower of Babel, and God leading His people through Moses, the plagues, the Red Sea, and the journey to a new home. Students learn about faith and obedience through stories of Joshua, Hannah, Samuel, David, Esther, and Jonah.


The curriculum then focuses on the life of Jesus, starting with His birth and the visits from shepherds and wise men. Students learn about Jesus calling His disciples, performing miracles, showing compassion, and teaching people to love and trust God. Lessons include Jesus calming storms, healing the sick, feeding the crowds, and caring for those in need. The year concludes with Jesus’ triumphal entry, the Last Supper, His crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and the disciples spreading the good news. Throughout the course, children learn that God loves them, keeps His promises, and invites them to follow Him.

Kindergarten* Phonics and Reading (AOP)

Overview

Summary
Kindergarten Phonics and Reading builds early reading skills through phonics, spelling rules, and simple sentences.
Description

In Kindergarten Phonics and Reading, students develop foundational reading and writing skills through systematic phonics instruction. Children learn to recognize and write uppercase and lowercase letters, identify letter sounds, and apply short- and long-vowel rules. Instruction begins with simple consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words and progresses to blends, digraphs, diphthongs, and vowel teams.


Students practice decoding and encoding words, reading and writing short sentences, and matching words to pictures. Grammar concepts are introduced gradually, including capitalization, punctuation, nouns, pronouns, verbs, plurals, possessives, and sentence types. Children learn to recognize rhyming words, alphabetize, and apply spelling and phonics rules such as silent letters, double consonants, syllables, and word endings.


As skills grow, students read for comprehension, complete sentence and story activities, and engage in creative writing. Vocabulary development, listening skills, and auditory discrimination are emphasized throughout the course. By the end of the year, students confidently read simple texts, understand common spelling patterns, and apply phonics and grammar rules to both reading and writing.

Overview

Summary
Kindergarten Health helps children learn about God’s design, feelings, families, safety, and healthy choices.
Description

In Kindergarten Health, students learn that God created each person as a unique individual and that everyone is part of God’s worldwide family. Children explore their own unique features while learning how people can be alike and different. The course emphasizes understanding emotions, including happiness, anger, fear, and sadness, and teaches healthy ways to express feelings, show empathy, and care for others.


Students learn about families as part of God’s plan and practice cooperation, sharing, listening, and using good manners. They explore how their bodies grow, move, and use the five senses, while giving thanks to God for His design. Lessons also focus on making healthy choices, such as eating nutritious foods, exercising, resting, practicing good hygiene, and caring for teeth.


Safety is a key part of the curriculum, including school rules, pedestrian safety, fire safety, stranger safety, and personal boundaries. Students learn about germs, illness prevention, safe medicine use, and community health helpers. Throughout the course, children are encouraged to take responsibility for their health, make wise choices, and thank God for the gift of their bodies.

Overview

Summary
Kindergarten Math builds number sense, counting, shapes, time, money, and basic addition and subtraction.
Description

In Kindergarten Math, students build a strong foundation in number sense, problem-solving, and everyday math skills. Children begin by learning numbers, counting, and simple positional concepts such as first, last, before, after, and between. They practice tracing and writing numbers, counting objects, recognizing patterns, and identifying shapes, colors, and sizes.


As the year progresses, students learn to count forward and backward, group by tens, and understand place value in ones and tens. They explore addition and subtraction using pictures, number lines, and hands-on strategies. Students also learn to read calendars, tell time to the hour, half-hour, and quarter-hour, and interpret simple bar graphs and pictographs.


The curriculum introduces money concepts, including identifying and counting coins and dollar bills, as well as measurement using inches and centimeters. Students practice comparing numbers, solving word problems, and recognizing fractions such as halves, thirds, and fourths. By the end of the course, children confidently count to 100, add and subtract within larger number families, and apply math skills to real-life situations.
