Summary | Elementary students are introduced to basic music theory through learning to play the soprano recorder. |
Description | Elementary students learn the fundamentals of reading sheet music and implementing correct fingering to play the corresponding notes on their recorders. Students learn to count rhythm as they learn to read and play whole, half, quarter, and eighth notes. Skills are sharpened through individual practice assignments and whole-class live exercises. While mastering notes G, E, A, and B, students learn over 15 songs throughout the course. |
