Overview
Summary | Apply math to real-life problems while building skills in algebra, geometry, and statistics in this course. |
Description | Integrated Math is an optional math course designed for high school students who want to continue in their mathematical studies but with content that is less rigorous than courses such as Precalculus or Probability and Statistics. Problems involving real-world applications are discussed. The course discusses rate problems, mixture problems, money, and probability and statistics applications. Throughout this course, students will practice algebraic thinking and use algebra to model and solve real-world problems. Students are exposed to several branches of mathematics and will explore ways in which each one can be used as a mathematical model in understanding the world. This course seeks to help students expand their knowledge and skills so that they may achieve the following goals:
Upon completion of the year-long course, students will enhance their foundational knowledge and skills in algebra, geometry, and other varied topics such as basic probability and statistics. |
