Description | Creative Writing introduces students to the foundational aspects of creative writing. The overarching goal of this course is to provide students with the knowledge, tools, and skills necessary to develop a plan for writing and then produce works of nonfiction, fiction, and poetry. This course covers developing a writing plan and writing techniques that will be used as students write a personal memoir, a short story, and poetry. While students are learning about techniques and methods of creative writing, they will read a nonfiction and a fiction work, either chosen from a list or approved by their teacher. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to understand various writing techniques used in creative writing and understand aspects of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. |
