  • The Spelling Bee is a virtual competition for students to compete against other Enlightium students in their grade level: primary and elementary, or middle and high school. Students are provided a word list upon registration and can study throughout the year. Then they will have three rounds of competition:
    • Round 1 in the fall
    • Round 2 in the winter
    • Round 3 in the spring
  • Registration for the Spelling Bee for the 2024-2025 school year will open during Student Social Week from September 16-20, 2024.

Frequently Asked Questions

Headset iconWhat Spelling Bee list will my student need to study?

Student will need to study their grade level’s list; in the event that a tie-breaker is needed, students will use another grade level’s spelling bee list.

Does my student need to say "uppercase" letters for words that are proper names to get the word correct?
They do not.

Will the competition be via Zoom? If so, what is the phone for?
It is through Zoom. In the past, students would join from just the computer and if their internet connection was poor, they were unable to participate. Having a phone available allows for clearer audio when that happens.
