Summary of the Steps
 | - You complete your student’s Enlightium re-enrollment form.
- Confirm to Enlightium that you would like to apply for this program.
- Enlightium will verify details of your student’s enrollment with the Tax Commission.
- The Tax Commission will email you an Enrollment Verification Number (EVN) for each student.
- You will apply for the Parental Choice Tax Credit on the Tax Commission website.
- If your application is approved, a check for the credit amount will be sent after the start of the school year.

Step-by-Step Guide
 | Step 1: Your Family Needs to be Enrolled at Enlightium Academy - Your family needs to be enrolled at Enlightium Academy before applying for the tax credit.
Step 2: Your Family Needs to Authorize Enlightium to Proceed - Enlightium Academy must have your permission to verify your student’s enrollment for the Tax Commission. To request an EVN and start this process, please email billing@enlightiumacademy.com confirming the following information:
- The full name of your student. If you would like to apply for the tax credit for multiple students, please list each student’s full name.
- Your full name and address.
- If there is a secondary contact on your account, please confirm his or her full name. If he or she has a different address from yours, include that as well.
- To ensure that Enlightium can verify enrollments, please complete this step no later than one month before the state’s deadline. You can find the state’s deadline here.
Step 3: Enlightium Submits Information to the Tax Commission- Enlightium Academy will submit the following information to the Tax Commission:
- Your student’s full name and date of birth.
- The primary parent or guardian’s full name, home address, and email address.
- The secondary parent’s full name, home address, and email address, if applicable.
- Your student’s full-year tuition and fees.
- Any tuition assistance already granted by Enlightium Academy, if applicable.
Step 4: The Tax Commission Provides an EVN - The Tax Commission will send you an email with your student’s EVN.
- Having an EVN does not mean you are approved yet, but it allows you to move to the next step in the application process.
Step 5: Parent Application - Visit the Oklahoma Tax Commission website for directions to complete a parent application.
- The Oklahoma Tax Commission will notify you when a decision is made regarding your application.
Step 6: The Tax Commission Sends a Check to Enlightium - In the fall, the Oklahoma Tax Commission will send checks to Enlightium Academy. Enlightium will then coordinate the distribution of checks to families.
