  • Most students in grades K-12 and legally residing in Tennessee should be eligible for Tennessee’s EFS program.
  • Enlightium Academy is a participating school for this program, so eligible students attending Enlightium Academy may receive approximately $7,300 to use on eligible expenses at Enlightium Academy.
    • Funding amounts may vary from year to year. The amounts given here are based on the published award amounts for the 2025-2026 school year.
  • The funds can be used to offset or completely cover the cost of Enlightium’s programs.
    • Please note that Enlightium cannot guarantee the use of EFS funds for print curriculum for the Book-Based Program. Families will need to arrange payments for the print curriculum directly with the bookseller.
  • Families will need to apply annually. Deadlines for applications and enrollment can be found on the EFS website.

Participation Requirements

  • The Tennessee ESA program is open to students meeting the following criteria:
    • The student is entering Kindergarten-12th grade
    • The student is lawfully present in the United States and resides in Tennessee.
    • Additional restrictions may apply to students who have not yet turned five years old or who will have completed more than 13 years of school in grades K-12 at the beginning of the applicable school year.
  • In order to receive funds, EFS students must attend a participating school (such as Enlightium Academy). EFS funds will not be available until the student’s enrollment at a participating school is verified.
  • ESA students in grades 3-11 are required to take a nationally norm-referenced test or participate in the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) assessment.

How Can You Use These Funds?

  • Offset the cost of tuition or pay off your tuition entirely.
  • Note: Enlightium cannot guarantee specific award amounts. Parents are responsible for ensuring that the tuition package they choose will be fully covered by their student’s EFS funds. Any amount not covered by the EFS is the responsibility of the parent.
