How to Turn a Google Doc into a Microsoft Word File (.docx)

You will often have to upload files to Ignitia or Turnitin in order to complete assignments. In those cases, you will need to convert Google Doc files to a file that can be uploaded.

The easiest file type to work with is a .docx file, one usually associated with Microsoft Word. 

Follow the steps below to convert a document in Google Docs to a .docx file.

At the top left of the Google Doc screen, click “File”

Scroll over “download” and click “Microsoft Word (.docx)”

Find the location where you want to save the file and click “save”
