Admissions Process for New Families

New, Returning, and Past Students

  • New Students: full-time students who have never been enrolled at Enlightium. Part-time students still need to complete some steps, such as submitting the enrollment form and providing identification but are excluded from most of the admissions steps.
  • Returning Students: students who were enrolled at Enlightium in the most recent school year; see the re-enrollment steps.
  • Past Students: students who were enrolled at Enlightium, withdrew, enrolled at a different school for at least one quarter, and are now returning to Enlightium.

Step 1: Pay Enrollment Fee and Submit Enrollment Form (Grades PreK-12)

  • THIS STEP NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED BEFORE COURSES ARE ASSIGNED
  • Enroll now for the 2024-2025 school year.
  • Enroll now for the 2025-2026 school year.
  • Pay the $250 enrollment fee per student and complete the enrollment form for each student.
    • The enrollment fee is non-refundable after 72 hours.

Step 2: Provide Current Grades and Report Card/Transcript to Enlightium (Grades K-12)

  • THIS STEP TYPICALLY NEED TO BE COMPLETED BEFORE COURSES ARE ASSIGNED*
  • By default, we’ll request that your student’s previous school send report cards/transcripts and other records to us. However, if you have a previous year's report card/transcript available, providing it may help speed up the admissions process.
  • Enlightium’s Admissions Department may also request your student's birth certificate, the social security number for seniors, as well as additional required records.
  • You can securely upload records using Enlightium’s Student Records Uploader.
  • Once your student has completed the current school year, talk to your previous school about their withdrawal policies to ensure that Enlightium receives all records in a timely manner.

Step 3: Complete Entrance Assessment (Grades 1-12)

  • THIS STEP NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED BEFORE COURSES ARE ASSIGNED
  • The Entrance Assessment evaluates the information your student has retained from the previous or current year, depending on when your student enrolls in Enlightium.
  • Your student’s score will help inform the counselor's course selection and rigor recommendations.
  • You will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the assessment*.

Step 4: Review/Confirm Student Schedule with Counselor (Grades PreK-12)

  • Parents with students in:
    • The Online Program (Elementary and Middle School) will be registered in traditional grade-level courses unless a student’s situation calls for something else. Counselors will reach out with any questions regarding the student’s courses.
    • The Online Program (High School) will receive a course planner via email from their counselor. Parents will need to review and confirm this course planner via email. This step needs to be completed before courses are assigned.
    • The Homeschool Program will receive a welcome email as well as an instructional email for ordering the book-based curriculum.
    • The Sapphire Live Program will receive a welcome email with their next steps.
    • The Hybrid Learning Program will receive a welcome email with their next steps on how to order books and complete the curriculum map.
  • After this step is complete and you have reached your desired start date, your student may begin courses!
  • Review Enlightium’s school calendar to stay updated on important events.

Step 5a: Complete the Parent Orientation

Step 5b: Complete the Student Orientation

  • The Student Orientation course is assigned around the student’s start date* and discusses how to navigate the online curriculum, access student resources, and more!

Step 6: Review of State Requirements

  • Enlightium Academy is a private Christian school that has accreditation, approvals, and memberships by Cognia and the Association of Christian Schools International. Enlightium serves homeschool, online, and co-op school students in grades K-12. Since most of our students study from home settings, some states view them as homeschoolers, requiring them to follow their state’s homeschool requirements.
  • Visit HSLDA.org, ProPublica, and/or review our state blogs for guidance.
