New vs Returning Students

  • The steps below are for:
    • New Students: students who have never been enrolled at Enlightium
    • Past Students: students who were enrolled at Enlightium, withdrew, enrolled at a different school for at least one quarter, and are now returning to Enlightium

Step 1: Pay Enrollment Fee and Submit Enrollment Form (Grades PreK-12)

  • THIS STEP NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED BEFORE COURSES ARE ASSIGNED
    • Click here to enroll a new student for the 2021-2022 school year
  • Pay the $200 enrollment fee per student and complete the enrollment form for each student.
    • The enrollment fee is non-refundable after 72 hours.
  • The enrollment form will need to be completed using a laptop or desktop computer and not a smartphone or tablet.

Step 2: Transfer Current Grades and Transcript (official or unofficial) to Enlightium (Grades K-12)

  • THIS STEP NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED BEFORE COURSES ARE ASSIGNED
  • By default, we’ll still request your student’s previous school to send grades and other records to us. Our Admissions Department may also request your student's birth certificate if needed, as well as the social security number for seniors.
  • Access the Student Records Uploader
  • Once your student has completed the current school year, talk to your previous school about their withdrawal policies to ensure that Enlightium receives all records in a timely manner.

Step 3: Complete Entrance Assessments (Grade 3-12)

  • THIS STEP NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED BEFORE COURSES ARE ASSIGNED
  • The entrance assessments evaluate the information your student has retained from the previous or current year, depending on when your student enrolls in Enlightium.
  • Your student’s score, whether it is average, above average, or below average, will help inform the counselor's recommendations for course selection and rigor.

Step 4: Review/Confirm Student Schedule with Counselor (Grades PreK-12)

  • Parents with students in:
    • Grades 9–12 will receive a course planner or graduation plan via email from their counselor. Parents will need to review and confirm this graduation plan via email. For high school students, THIS STEP NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED BEFORE COURSES ARE ASSIGNED.
    • Grades 3–8 will receive a notification via email when courses are assigned.
    • Grades PreK-2 will receive a welcome email along with instructions to confirm the curriculum content that is to be purchased by the parent.
  • After this step is complete and you have reached your desired start date, your student may begin courses!

Step 5a: Complete the Parent Orientation (Grades PreK-12)

Step 5b: Complete the Student Orientation (Grades 3-12)

  • The Student Orientation course is assigned around the student’s start date and discusses how to navigate the online curriculum, access student resources, and more!

Step 6: Review of State Requirements (Grades PreK-12)

  • Enlightium Academy is a private Christian school that is accredited by Cognia and the Association of Christian Schools International and serves homeschool, online, and co-op school students in grades K-12. Since most of our students study from home settings, some states view our students as homeschoolers, therefore requiring them to follow their state’s homeschool requirements.
  • Visit HSLDA.org, ProPublica, and/or review our state blogs for guidance.
