Communication with Enlightium Academy

TABLE OF CONTENTS

A Few Notes About Communication

  • Each staff and faculty member will have a preferred method of communication. Each family is encouraged to work with the Enlightium team member through the employee’s recommended channel which can be found in the staff and faculty contact.
    • Examples:
      • An employee may recommend moving the communication from email to phone for real-time assistance.
      • An employee may respond to an email with a link to a Knowledge Base page that addresses some or all of a family’s questions.
  • If your family has a question or concern, please reach out to only one Enlightium team member. Contacting several staff and faculty members typically results in a slower response time.

Enlightium Parents App: Required for Parents (At Least One Per Household)

  • Enlightium has an app that is available for parents and guardians.
  • This tool is available as a smartphone app and a website.
  • The app features:
    • Customizable communication based on the groups that you join.
    • Direct messaging with other families.
    • Direct messaging with a staff member.
  • Be sure to join the following groups:
    • Your state or country. If it is not listed, join the “International” group.
    • A group for each of your student’s grade levels (ex: 3rd grade).
    • The group for your student’s program (either the Online Program, the Book-Based Program, or the Sapphire Live Program).
  • Click here to download the Enlightium Parents app.

Email: Required Form of Communication Between Enlightium and Families

  • Email is the primary form of communication from Enlightium to your family.
  • Emails are sent to the primary contact* on the enrollment form your family submitted, and in some cases also to the secondary contact or students.
  • On occasion, an email from Enlightium may end up in your spam or other folders, so you are encouraged to check those folders regularly.
  • If you are not receiving any emails:
    • You may need to whitelist enlightiumacademy.com. Whitelisting means you approve of emails coming from a certain domain.
    • You can email support@enlightiumacademy.com to ensure that our team has the correct email address on file.
    • If you do not believe you are receiving critical emails, please submit this form to notify the team.
*The term parent is used interchangeably with "guardian".

Enlightium's Website and Knowledge Base: Required for Families to Review

  • Emails from the Enlightium team often redirect families to Enlightium's website and Knowledge Base.
  • Both platforms hold valuable, in-depth information for your family.
    • Enlightium Academy’s website is generally designed for families not yet enrolled in Enlightium.
      • The main website is more simplified to help families interested in Enlightium to make an informed decision concerning enrollment.
      • Information on the website may include:
        • The admissions process.
        • Course descriptions.
        • Available discounts.
    • Enlightium’s Knowledge Base is designed for families already enrolled in Enlightium.
      • The Knowledge Base has a robust search engine to help families quickly search for information on any given topic.
      • Information on the knowledge base may include:
        • Staff and faculty contact information.
        • How to register for school events.
        • Student and parent resources.
      • Your family is strongly encouraged to bookmark and continually explore Enlightium's Knowledge Base.

School Calendar: Required to Print

  • PDF Calendar
    • Every family should print out a calendar for each student’s workstation and in a central location in your home (such as your refrigerator) where it can be easily accessed.
  • Google Calendar - Recommended
    • Sync Enlightium’s calendar to your Google calendar.
    • This calendar provides a daily check-in email from Enlightium and the ability to search for school events.

Set yourself up for success: Families who print out the school calendar are typically aware of Ignitia and Canvas Down Days.

Direct Message in Ignitia and Canvas: Required Between Students and Enlightium

  • Administration, faculty, and staff may send direct messages to students through Ignitia and Canvas, Enlightium's learning management systems (LMSs).
  • These messages may be reminders of school events such as the end of the quarter and holiday breaks.
  • Parents are encouraged to review direct messages to best support their students.

SMS Text To Parents: Available to Parents

What is the Nature of Enlightium's SMS Messages?
  • Enlightium administration will occasionally send text reminders concerning important dates and information.
  • The texts typically lead to a Knowledge Base page that contains more information.
To Whom Do We Send SMS Messages?
  • The primary parent on the household account gets all SMS such as reminders for Bible Studies, webinars, and state vouchers.
  • The secondary parent on the household account gets some SMS for big events.
  • Families who have not yet re-enrolled get an SMS.
  • The software used by Enlightium for text does not allow texting to numbers outside of the United States.
Troubleshooting
  • If you stop getting our automatic text messages:
    • You may text START to our main number (866-488-4818) first. This helps confirm you’re not on a carrier blocklist (like a 10DLC suppression list) that could be stopping the messages.
    • If you are still not receiving messages after that, please email it@enlightiumacademy.com.
